Spouse Impact on Core Factors: When a spouse is included, the maximum points for Section A core factors decreases from 500 to 460. However, the spouse can earn up to 40 bonus points in Section B, potentially resulting in the same or better combined score (460 + 40 = 500).

Important: The Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) is the most significant factor. A PNP nomination from any Canadian province or territory grants 600 points, virtually guaranteeing an Invitation to Apply (ITA) in the next Express Entry draw.
